SUMMARY

Challenge

Finance teams were losing months in manual planning cycles with scattered data and conflicting inputs.

Target Audience

Bosch Vietnam's finance controllers and planning managers.

Impact

A centralized tool that streamlined data handling, reduced planning stress, and improved cross-team visibility.

THE REAL PROBLEM BEHIND THE WORK

Finance controllers were drowning in disconnected spreadsheets and endless alignment meetings. Each team used different versions of data, causing delays, frustration, and double work that made every cycle harder than the last. The system wasn’t broken by tech, it was broken by collaboration.

We realized people didn’t need another complex platform, they needed a shared space to think, plan, and move together. The challenge wasn’t about adding tools but about designing a system that simplified decision-making and built trust between teams.

This project sat in the complex zone of the Stacey Matrix, where evolving requirements and cross-functional workflows demanded a flexible, research-led approach to uncover real problems before proposing solutions.

How We Solved It

We ran deep interviews and co-creation workshops with finance controllers to uncover their hidden pain points. Mapping their routines and frustrations helped us see how misalignment, not workload, was killing efficiency. That understanding shaped every design choice we made.

The result was a centralized platform with flexible simulations and real-time data visibility. It allowed teams to plan collaboratively, test pricing scenarios, and adjust instantly when numbers changed. The focus was on clarity, not complexity, so people could spend time analyzing, not cleaning up data.

THE IMPACT WE MADE

Planning cycles that once stretched for months now happen in half the time with less confusion and stress. Teams finally share a single version of truth, improving accuracy and cutting unnecessary coordination meetings. Finance work started feeling smarter, lighter, and far more aligned.

The biggest change wasn’t speed, it was mindset. Controllers now focus on strategy and forecasting instead of managing spreadsheets. The tool became more than a product, it became a framework for collaboration that other teams could learn from.

WHAT WE LEARNED

The hardest problems aren’t technical, they’re human. We learned that clarity and shared ownership matter more than any feature. Once everyone worked toward the same goal, progress followed naturally and momentum built itself.

Technology only adds value when it mirrors how people think and collaborate. Starting with alignment made every design decision easier and every solution more grounded in reality. It’s a reminder that empathy and precision go hand in hand.
